Cleaner elections should be everybody's concern in a republic like ours, where the people vote on who they want to put in the government. Names of people who are gone or dead or don't exist should not be on the list of legally registered voters. Ballots that can be mailed in, taking the place of a voter marking the ballot in person, offer lots of potential for inaccuracy or manipulation.
Los Angeles County finally took one million two hundred thousand ineligible voters off their voter roll. They were forced to do so by a federal lawsuit filed on behalf of four eligible voters and Judicial Watch. At that time (2017) "voter registration for the county was 112 percent of its adult citizen population."
There's less risk of fraud now.
