New cars parked

So many segments of our economy, the financial lifeblood of our communities and nation, are in big trouble - as you know. The airlines are just one part of it.

Picture this: a huge Nissan cargo ship coming into port on the West Coast bringing thousands of cars  . . and no dealer will take them. The ship's captain was ordered to drop anchor and it floated there for six days until someone could figure out what to do with the SUV's, sedans, and crossovers.

Sales fell off a cliff in April: Hyundai down 39%, Toyota down 54%, Subaru down 47%. A lot of people have changed their minds about buying a car.
