Nadia Murad and Denis Mukwege have been selected to share the 2018 Nobel Prize for their work.

Dr. Mukwege's response to winning the prize:
"This honor is an inspiration because it shows that the world is actually paying attention to the tragedy of rape and sexual violence and that the women and children who have suffered for too long are not being ignored."
Nadia Murad's response to winning the prize:
"Persecution of minorities must end. We must work together with determination – to prove that genocidal campaigns will not only fail, but lead to accountability for the perpetrators and justice for the survivors."
