Re-wilding

Preserving nature has probably been around much longer than trendy, modern movements might lead you to think. But emphases have changed. "Environmentalism" pushed extreme, irrational claims for years. But "re-wilding" seems more reasonable.

A short description of the process might be just stepping back from human management and letting nature take over. 

Here's another example from Britain. Financial collapse drove property owners of a failing commercial farm to step back from farming their land. They removed their internal fences, broke up drainage systems, and released certain animals to live freely.

Guess what happened over the next 25 years.
