Parents have made some progress in calling local schools back to their values. But higher education institutions don't have the platform of school board meetings where parents can show up. Far left ideologies dominate at that level.
Woke ideology often operates under the banner of DEI, just a euphemism for left-wing racialism. It stands for "diversity, equity, inclusion" as described in a positive sense here. But it displaces merit and intellectual inquiry.
Psychologist and author Jonathan Haidt objects to DEI saying that it: "forces many academics to betray their . . duty to the truth . . ." So he resigned from his professional organization because he would not back down from his duty to speak what he believes to be true.
Prestigious Stanford University, with a global reputation for excellence, is now dominated by DEI.
